Universal Messenger 7.50.0 (EN)
Release 7.50.0 Build 1850 was released in November 2022. This release includes
Split testing for newsletter mailings (“A/B testing”)
Functional improvements and bug fixes
Update of various components
Optimization of the internal data model (update of the database schema, DB backup strongly recommended!)
Split testing for newsletter mailings (“A/B testing”)
With a split testing newsletter you can create several different variants of a newsletter and send them to a randomly selected test group of your target segment.
You can vary the subject of the email and the plain text or HTML content. For split testing of different content, correspondingly extended templates in the Smart Editor or a connected CMS are necessary.
You can then analyze the click and view behavior and select a winning variant. You then send this variant to the remaining recipients of the target segment in the second step.
See also User manual / Split testing.
Newsletter tracking
For view and click tracking, the full value of the UserAgent string (browser ID) is now stored if the browser or client name could not be determined.
Newsletter App
When deleting an entry via the profile page, there is now an error message if the entry could not be deleted due to a list or segment preventing deletion.
Preparations before starting the update
Several database schema adjustments are made when updating to UM Release 7.50.
It is therefore strongly recommended to create a complete database backup before running the installer. Furthermore, the update process should - as far as possible - be tested beforehand in a test or staging system with a comparable configuration.
