Since 2014 we are at major version 7
New major features result in a new Release
Database schema updates result in a new Release
Breaking changes that require manual action / configuration changes result in a new Release
Minor features / improvements / bug fixes result in a new Revision
Updating existing installations
Carefully read and consider each individual Release Note and check which changes might affect your installation and thus might require manual configuration changes or other actions.
We are doing the best we can to avoid the necessity of doing manual changes when updating from one release to another.
